FAMILY – The Polarn O. Pyret (PO.P) kids fleece Jacket is stylish and waterproof

I recently picked up the Polarn O. Pyret (PO.P) Waterproof Kids Fleece Jacket for my child, and honestly, it’s been one of the best kids’ jackets we’ve owned. The first thing I noticed was how soft the fleece is — it feels cozy right away, not stiff or scratchy like some waterproof jackets can be.

What’s even better is that it’s genuinely waterproof. We’ve had a few wet school runs and playground trips, and the rain just beads off. No damp, grumpy child afterward! Plus, the jacket is breathable, which has been a big deal — my kid tends to get hot quickly when playing, but this hasn’t led to them getting sweaty or uncomfortable.

I really appreciate the little thoughtful details: the zipper has a chin guard so it doesn’t scratch, the cuffs are elastic and snug without being tight, and there are reflective strips which are a huge plus now that it’s darker in the evenings. It’s also lightweight enough that my child can easily move in it, climb, run — basically do all the things they want without feeling restricted.

Another huge win: the sizing. PO.P uses height-based sizing, and it’s slightly generous, so it fits longer. I bought it a bit big, and I’m confident we’ll get at least two seasons out of it. It also layers well over a hoodie for chillier days, and we can even zip it into a shell jacket for winter if needed.

It’s not super cheap (ours was about £50), but considering the quality — and the fact I can probably hand it down to a younger sibling or resell it — I think it’s totally worth it.

In short: it’s practical, comfortable, durable, and looks really smart. I’d absolutely buy it again.
