LONDON EVENTS – Pokémon’s Pokécology Pop-Up Lands at Natural History Museum London

The Pokémon Company International and the Natural History Museum, London have revealed exciting new details about their highly anticipated pop-up shop, first announced in September 2025. Highlights include a commemorative oversized Pokémon TCG Promo Card featuring Pikachu at the Museum, available as a gift with purchase, along with a first look at a wide range of brand-new, exclusive merchandise.

Celebrating the theme of Pokécology, the pop-up reflects the shared fascination of both brands with the natural world and its creatures — from evolution and habitats to ecosystems and environments.

The free, ticketed pop-up will run from Monday 26 January to Sunday 19 April in the Museum’s Cranbourne Boutique shop. Due to overwhelming demand, the event was extended to allow more fans to attend; however, all time slots are now fully booked and walk-ins will not be available. Purchase limits will be in place for visitors to ensure fair access throughout the pop-up’s run.

Inspired by the acclaimed Japanese publication Pokécology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokémon Ecology, the pop-up space explores how Pokémon live, interact with their environments, and adapt to habitats ranging from deep forests to shadowy caves. Alongside themed merchandise, visitors can enjoy an artwork display that brings these ideas to life.

The exclusive collection has been created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum and draws inspiration from iconic elements of the building itself, including Hintze Hall and its botanical ceiling panels. These have been reimagined with Grass-type Pokémon such as Ivysaur and Victreebel. Additional artwork takes cues from the Museum’s historic naturalist books and scientific illustrations, showcasing Pokémon from Water-type to Bug-type, as well as designs celebrating Eevee and its evolutions.

Products span a wide range, including stationery, clothing, pins, bags, posters, gold-plated decorations, and special Pikachu plush toys.

Many items from the collection will also be available online via the Natural History Museum’s online shop from midday on 26 January 2026, while stocks last. Select ranges will launch on Pokémon Center UK in early February, with purchase limits applying online as well. Fans can sign up for Pokémon Center email alerts to be notified when products go live.

All in-store purchases at the pop-up will include the Pikachu at the Museum oversized Pokémon TCG Promo Card as a gift with purchase. From Friday 30 January, the oversized card will also be available as a gift with purchase at select UK retailers, though it will not be available via Pokémon Center.

All profits from Pokémon purchases made in the Museum shop and through its online store directly support the Natural History Museum’s charitable mission, including the work of more than 400 scientists researching and developing solutions to the planetary emergency.
