Calling all Emmerdale fans! Gemma Oaten to auction a luxury lunch at Mamounia Lounge and Emmerdale goodies!
Gemma Oaten is known for playing the all guns blazing Rachel in the hit soap Emmerdale, while her character has had some on screen struggles many people do not know that Gemma herself suffered with an eating disorder. National Eating disorders awareness week is held this year from February 24th to 2nd March and this month Gemma is proud to announce she will be the official Patron for SEED, a charity for those effected by eating disorders.
Not only will Gemma be the patron of this wonderful organisation, but during the week of 24th February to 2nd March there will be an open online auction to join Gemma for a luxury lunch in London at the stunning Mamounia Lounge and all the proceeds from the auction will be donated to SEED. During the same week money will also be raised through her Emmerdale character Rachel’s track suit being auctioned.

Yorkshire actress Gemma Oaten’s love for the arts started at a young age and she appeared in a national touring production of Evita, but the effects of bullying lead her to suffer from Anorexia from the tender age of 10. After beating the disease at 22, her life took a turn upwards as she trained at drama school in London and not long after scored roles in national television. Her first role on the small screen was in Doctors, then as the fan favourite Rachel in the award winning show Emmerdale.
SEED means Support and Empathy for people with Eating Disorders. S.E.E.D.’s mission is to create a facility that provides sufferers and carers alike with confidential independent and non judgemental advice and support to ensure they are aided by the best possible network of care and support to facilitate recovery. They are are a non-profit making organisation, who are committed and professional in our approach to improving services for people suffering from eating disorders and their carers and immediate family.
