LONDON EATERIES – Fresh and delicious dining at 106 Baker Street
Sometimes finding a healthy place to eat at lunch can be difficult, many salads are covered in high calorie dressing and table service can take too long for an hour lunch break. So when I heard a new and healthy cafe had opened a stones throw from my office, I could not wait to get down and try it.
106 Baker Street is situated a few minutes walk from Baker Street tube station in the bustling and well to do area of Marylebone, W1. It has recently opened and offers take aways, as well as a spacious area for dining in. When we arrived we could see it was already popular, with a queue out the door waiting to taste the wonderful delights this cafe has to offer.
Walking up to the counter to choose our lunch, we were struck by the amazing display of delicious, colourful and healthy food. Choosing what to have was not an easy task, but the Italian servers were there to help. Once our plates were chosen and our drinks ordered we found a lovely seat. The cafe is a welcome mix of shabby chic and modern style, while out the back they had the cutest little patio with a quaint table set for two. The tall ceilings give it a airy feel and the cafe was filled with happy customers.

The food, oh the food, I do not know what to say apart from WOW! The salmon was covered in a welcome crisp topping, that was mixture of bread crumbs and herbs. It was cooked to perfection and almost melted in your mouth, I am a fish lover and I would put it in my list of top three all time tasty fish treats. The humous was thick, creamy and tasty, with a decoration of pomegranate to add a slight tangy touch. The vegetable selection was full of flavour and roasted to perfection, and the quinoa was a delightful taste of sun dried tomato, broccoli and green beans.

The waiters were friendly, attentive and recommended the watermelon juice to which both our eyes lit up. It was extremely tasty, mouthwatering and delicious. I would go back just for that! We were not surprised when our waiter shared that the watermelon had been imported all the way from Sicily.
If you want a place to enjoy delicious healthy food, a relaxed atmosphere and great service for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner then 106 Baker Street is the place to be. I am happy this lovely cafe is on my door step and can not wait to return.
