ESCAPE LONDON, VISIT AMERICA – Spoil yourself in the heart of New York at the Kitano Hotel
The boutique hotel Kitano in New York is situated a stones throw from the Empire State Building and in central Manhattan. Before you even step inside the stunning hotel, you are greeted by the porter at the door and this is just where the excellent service begins. The receptionists are very friendly and are sure to make you feel welcome. The lounge area is grand, with large comfortable sofas, high ceilings, luxurious wood and pretty Christmas decorations.

The elevators are equally as grand and the halls to the bedrooms are cream. The rooms themselves are decorated in soft colours, cream walls and fawn carpets. The windows are covered with beige curtains, all serene to help you relax in the comfortable bedroom. The bed itself is comfortable, with duck down pillows, crisp white sheets and an oriental throw to give a splash of colour. The bathroom is decorated in beautiful cream marble, with shiny gold taps, a great selection of quality complimentary toiletries and of course fluffy towels. The pièce de résistance however, is the actually the toilet that also pairs as a bidet, with electric options for you to choose from. Every detail has been thought out in this high quality New York hotel, as robes and slippers hang in the closet. They even provide you with an umbrella, perfect for the rainy winter nights and shoehorns for those difficult to put on shoes. Nothing is too much for the lovely staff at the Kitano, I asked for an extra blanket and the cheery receptionist was more than happy to grant my wishes. When I woke up from a beautiful sleep in the comfy bed, an unexpected newspaper lay outside my door.

The breakfast room that is also a Jazz bar played gentle music and the tables were neatly laid. Attentive waiters were on hand to cater for all your culinary needs and continued the hotels theme of excellent service. The breakfast room is very inviting, with tall ceilings with a glad rood and stunning hanging lights. They offer a great selection of food, both at the breakfast bar and on the menu. The coffee is hot and the fruit juice fresh. I opted for the Salmon Florentine which was cooked to perfection, the eggs were runny, the potatoes tasty and the salad a welcome addition to this delicious and hearty meal.
There isn’t a gym at the hotel, but health conscious individuals should not be put off, as they provide complimentary membership to the NY Sports Club whilst staying at the hotel. The Kitano Hotel is a family run business and offers various room sizes, from family size suites to the Tatami suite, a traditional Japanese style suite.
If you would like to stay right in the centre of New York and visit all that this beautiful city has to offer, the Kitano should be your point of call. You will feel welcome from the moment you step in, until the moment you leave and staying there will help you create wonderful memories you had hoped for.
