LONDON EATERIES – Bella Italia launches delicious affordable evening menu
Stuck on where to go next date night, family dinner or meal with the girls? Bella Italia has it all! Their new evening menu, which runs from Sunday to Thursday from 5pm, brings old favourites and exciting new flavourful options to the table. Starting at £9.95 for two courses, the new menu is great value for money and affordable for everyone. The fantastic range of meals also includes vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as healthy, lower-calorie alternatives, making the Bella Italia restaurants a fabulous choice for any occasion and dietary requirement.
Currently undertaking a refurbishment program, the Bella’s around London are transforming. Each Bella Italia restaurant undergoing renovations will be made to look slightly distinct from the others, which means that every Bella you visit will be a different experience. The newly revamped branch located on Wellington street has a welcoming Trattoria-style atmosphere, making it an inviting place for a casual meal. As you descend down the stairs, the well-lit, stylish room is certain to leave an impression. Tastefully decorated with photographs of Italian landmarks and traditional meals, you will immediately feel as if you have been transported to a restaurant in Italy. The main feature of the room, an artistic array of hanging lights in the centre, are eye-catching and add a modern twist to this traditional setting. Music can be heard playing softly in the background, adding to the amiable atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant has successfully created an ambience that is casual, yet classic.
Executive Chef, Vittorio Lettieri, was proud to present the options on the new evening menu. The starters included traditional favourites such as lasagne and fun fish and chips with an Italian twist. I opted for the Mini Garlic Ciabatta, which was crunchy and had just the right amount of zing from the garlic. My guest went for the Insalata Caprese, a traditional Italian starter that had the perfect flavour combination from Buffalo mozzarella, basil and plum tomatoes. Lettieri recommended the Pasta Gamberi for a main, which was composed of a generous serving of garlicky pasta, prawn and courgette. The pasta was fresh, flavourful and as an added benefit, comes under one of the healthy options at less than 600 calories per serving. My guest took a vegetarian option, the Risotto Legume, which was creamy and rich without being overwhelming.

The great thing about this menu is that if you would like to add a third course, or perhaps a glass of wine or beer, it’s easy and great value at only an additional £3. The same goes for soft drinks, which can be ordered for £2. I recommend going for a glass of sweet Prosecco, as it compliments nearly every meal on the menu and is light and refreshing. There are many sweets to choose from, including traditional Italian Tiramisu or Pannacotta. If, like me, you find it hard to decide when given so many options, then the shot desserts are the way to go. For the £3 add-on, you get two shot glass desserts, allowing you to experience even more flavours. The rich Amaretto chocolate pot is perfect for chocolate addicts and if you’re after something lighter, there’s fresh Tiramisu mousse or tasty Banoffee pie as well. All the shot desserts come under 300 calories per serving and are freshly made in the kitchen, so you know you are getting high quality tasty treats.

At Bella Italia, there is certainly something for everyone. With so much to choose from on the flexible menu, beautiful new décor and delightful atmosphere, this restaurant is suitable for any dinner occasion. Plus, the price point menu is affordable for every budget. If you’re after friendliness and flavourful food, look no further than Bella Italia!
