ESCAPE LONDON – Feel like Royalty at Brockencote Hall in Worcestershire
Brockencote Hall is a stunning Victorian country house hotel near the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire and part of the Eden Hotel collection. From setting your eyes on this stunning Hall, to the moment you leave, you can’t help but feel like royalty. The beautiful hallways are adorned with Victorian furniture and on the walls hang black and white photos of the halls past residents.
The bedroom is fit for a lady, with soothing cream and silver tones. The large and luxurious room has a stunning open fireplace and I couldn’t help but think what it would be like to live in the beautiful hall. The Victorian bedroom has a lovely high ceiling and a grand gold chandelier, the room overlooks the 70 acres of land, with a mass of beautiful green trees and a well-kept lawn. The bedroom provides whatever you need, slippers, fluffy white dressing gowns, a Nespresso machine, a great range of coffee and teas, shoe horns, shiny wine glasses and even espresso cups. They offer the choice of champagne and beautiful fresh fruits on arrival to your room, perfect to spoil yourself, of course we couldn’t resist and it helped make me feel like the lady of the manor.

The bathroom is beautiful mix of modern and vintage, with a large Victorian basin and French style silver taps. The walk in shower and deep bath offer you plenty of choice to indulge in relaxation, whilst generously sized complimentary ESPA products lay on the beautiful sink and fluffy white towels adorn the heated radiator.
Wallking down the sweeping staircase, beautiful lilies filled the air with delightful smells and led you to the grand restaurant foyer. A brass chandelier crowned the ceiling and open wine cellars decorated one wall. The bar area has an stunning conservatory with a hexagon shaped ceiling that opens out into the sumptuous gardens and the marble-topped intricately carved oak bar, provides an eye-catching feature. The library is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing pre-dinner drink. Violin music plays gently in the background, the comfortable sofas lay next to the impressive black brass and marble fireplace.
The 7-course taster menu looks delicious, but as I am a pescatarian the friendly waitress took the time to ask the chef to replace meat with fish and he kindly obliged. The staff look immaculate and are more than courteous. The tables are beautifully set with polished cutlery, stylish condiments and a perfect view of the stunning gardens. The dining room is elegant with arched French and panelled windows.
To begin with we tasted the sweetcorn moose with paprika popcorn. It is clear the food presentation at Brockencote Hall is nothing short of excellent and you can’t help but feel lost in an imaginary world of Lords and Ladies. The moose melts in your mouth and the paprika popcorn is the perfect topping, two wonderful flavours that create a party in your mouth. It adds to the class of this beautiful place that all of the well kept staff have beautiful French and Portuguese accents, as well as being very easy on the eyed.

Bronzed to perfection the succulent scallop starter was actually the best I have ever tasted and coming from a Pescatarian, that is no small feat. Followed by smoked salmon and beetroot, two tangy flavours that are married well. Keeping with the fish theme just as I requested, my main dish was flaky turbot, alongside artichoke. It has to be said this dish is divine, the chef certainly knows how to prepare five star food and he take risks with food combinations that pay off well. We ended our beautiful meal with choices from the extensive and impressive cheese selection, our lovely waiter knew every single cheese and even some fun historical stories behind them.
This stunning hotel is quiet, making it perfect if you want to get away from it all and enjoy luxurious surroundings. It is not your average country house hotel, every detail has been thought out well, the staff ooze charm and every part of your stay is perfect. The hall only has 21 rooms and enough staff for double that who can help as little or as much as you need them to. The food is outstanding, the rooms pure luxury and if you ever wanted to live life like Royalty then Brockencote Hall in Worcestershire should be your first point of call.
