After a hectic week at work in the big city I couldn’t wait to get to Warwickshire and enjoy a relaxing evening at The Mallory Court Hotel. After a quick 90 minute train ride from London and a short taxi ride, my eyes widened as they caught sight of the stunning Jacobean Hotel. Sometimes you get wrapped into London life and forget that there is a beautiful world outside the M25. The Mallory Court Hotel was just the reminder I needed, the exterior is out of this world with textured brown stone and beautiful black gothic windows.

It isn’t just the exterior of the hotel that is beautiful, my bedroom was equally eye catching and decorated in relaxing creams, dramatic golds and opulent black. Arriving at the hotel we were made to feel special, with a lovely welcome note, alongside a fruit selection and home made cordial. My beautiful suite boasted a comfortable and elegant sofa, the bed that was perfect, with fine down pillows and white linen, with a soft satin feel. Suitably the table and chairs were set directly in front of the beautiful bay windows, which allowed plenty of natural light into the room and a perfect view to the well-kept gardens.

The en-suite facility exuded luxury, with marble walls in a striking black and white. The Art Deco bedroom was echoed in the bathroom and the luxury bath was divine. I couldn’t wait to enjoy the bath with bubbles, so I ran a bath and jumped in. What more could I ask for peace, tranqulity, luxury and a bath that was made for a Queen or an overworked Londoner that was so in need of a rest. Work and my crazy London life was already far from my mind! The beautiful hotel is inviting and perfect for those like me, who love a little luxury.

The dining area room is suitably grand with oak panelling and well set tables. Light piano music gently adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The windows look out to the beautifully green gardens and the service is nothing short of excellent.

The 7 course taster menus was divine, we began with a tomato, avocado and parmesan patty. A perfect mix of fresh and flavourful tomatoes, paired with puréed avocado. The malted bread is delightful, the exterior is perfectly crispy and he inside is light and fluffy. It is like a malted savoury cupcake and is superb. We followed with the scallops with peas and green strawberries. The scallops were fresh and sweet with a buttery texture, while green strawberries were an inspired touch. The cod with roasted cauliflower, lentil purée and leek, was also a tasty combination. However, the pièce de résistance was the desert, a creamy sweetcorn parfait, with black current leaf ice cream, fresh strawberries and pistachio.

After a wonderful nights sleep, we awoke to a lovely selection of cooked and cold breakfast choices and a noted great range of excellent fish, great for fish lovers like myself. After breakfast we took a moment to sit outside on the beautiful furniture taking in the delightful views of rolling country hills, the lawns are well are well kept and mowed into stripes. Birds chirped happily and as a wonderful calmness overflowed within me, leaving my hectic London lifestyle miles away.

However, the pièce de résistance was the desert, a creamy sweetcorn parfait, with black current leaf ice cream, fresh strawberries and pistachio.

The Mallory Court Hotels chef is not afraid to make bold and original food choices and those choices pay off. This stunning luxury hotel is great for foodies, friends sharing a relaxing weekend in beautiful surroundings and the perfect setting for a memorable romantic weekend.
