ESCAPE LONDON – Short but very sweet

Comberemere Abbey Holiday Cottage

Comberemere Abbey Holiday Cottage

The beautifully stylish cottages on the Combermere Abbey estate enjoy such peaceful and spectacular surroundings, that a short but sweet stay may be all that is required to restore and revive you.

A quality two night ‘nano-break’ allows guests a window in their busy schedules, without the fuss required of a planning a longer break. Simply pack an overnight bag with easy clothes, grab your camera and the dog if you have one, and head off for a taste of simple country living in this unique natural environment, with acres of native woodlands, footpaths, Victorian walled gardens and even a fruit tree maze to explore.

Enjoy relaxed evenings by the fireside, many of the cottages boast a wood-burning stove, or perhaps dine out at one of the recommended character gourmet pubs in the area, including one only just down the lane from the estate.

The value of the ‘nano break’ is appealing too – stay midweek from only £280, based on a cottage to sleep 4, and from £320 for a weekend away. Two night minimum stays are valid only for the low season, November, December, February and March and you can come any day of the week. Closed during January. (Offer is subject to availability).

Ideal for couples, friends or the whole family, ‘Crossley’ cottage’s separate TV/media room will appeal to families with older children and sleeps up to 10 guests. ‘Beckett’ and ‘Malbanc’ are also ideal for larger groups, sleeping up to 6 and 8 guests, with dining for up to 22 and 16 guests, respectively.

The surrounding countryside has many superb walks and cycle-friendly trails for exploring the great outdoors, in superb and varied terrain taking in verdant pastureland, forests, rocky outcrops, canal paths and sandstone trails, passing castles, churches, farms and black & white timbered cottages. Pursuits such as sky diving, gliding, hot air ballooning, off road driving, horse riding, polo and fishing can all be arranged nearby.

Organic spa treatments can be booked in the comfort of your own cottages with My Personal Sanctuary. Additional touches such as complimentary DVD library, dinner on arrival, wine in the fridge, local foods breakfast hamper, spa treatments, frozen meals and maid service are available to book to allow guests to do as much or as little as they wish.
