‘The laughter was deafening’ Adelaide Advertiser ★★★★

Direct from Australia Peter & Bambi Heaven brings their unique critically acclaimed debut show ‘The Magic Inside’ to the Wonderground on the Southbank for two nights on 1st & 2nd June. Peter & Bambi Heaven are Australia’s most deluded dancing magicians and they’re about to explode into town and spray London with sunshine.

They’ve put together the greatest magical variety show possible, auditioning acts up and down Australia’s sunshine coast, but at the last minute they’ve fired the cast and decided to go it alone and perform all the acts themselves.

Peter and Bambi Heaven are the ridiculous creation of Asher Treleaven and Gypsy Wood, lovingly directed by Cal McCrystal (The Mighty Boosh, One Man Two Guvnors). Imagine if David Copperfield and Claudia Schiffer were from Australia’s Gold Coast, now roll them in sequins and set them on fire, and you’re almost there.

One of Australia’s most critically-acclaimed comedians, Asher Treleaven has been described as a “post-modern Barry Humphries”, and has won a slew of awards including The Age Critics’ Choice Award and the 2014 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment for his role in the international smash hit stage show “La Soiree”. He has also been twice nominated for a Barry Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and was nominated for the Best Newcomer at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe.

Named by Time Out as Australia’s “queen of kink”, Gypsy Wood is a notorious performance artist and comedian who has performed strip teases for Bon Jovi, Sting and several Australian Prime Ministers. She made headlines in 2007 when she stripped for then PM Kevin Rudd on TV show “The Chaser’s War on Everything”, an act she sort of reprised in 2009 when she burst out of a cake at former PM Bob Hawke’s 80th birthday party to do a strip tease dressed as other former PM John Howard.

“Asher Treleaven and Gypsy Wood play the parts to perfection, keeping the fake smiles beaming even as things fall apart around them.” The West Australian
