DRINKS – Spectacular summer cocktails by Demijohn

As you know we LOVE cocktails at Heart London Magazine, so we were excited to discovered these British made gems, created by Demijohn. Not only are the cocktails delicious they are made with Demijohn’s innovative liquors which come in mouthwatering flavours and also taste good alone.
Here are just a few of their amazing drink range!
Grapefruitcello Liqueur, a handmade British liqueur which can be drunk over ice or mixed into many wonderful cocktails.
Raspberry Vodka Liqueur, if you like raspberries and vodka then this liqueur will be for you.
Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur, if you are a rhubarb person then our handmade Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur might just be for you, as there is absolutely no mistake about the base for this wonderful, fresh and original tasting Rhubarb Vodka.
Butterscotch Cream Liqueur, Imagine the taste of molten butterscotch toffee sweets, now add some real, thick Devonshire Cream and finally top it off with a fine Apple Brandy……..delicious!
Midsummer Muddle Cocktail – this was created on a Summer evening in June when we needed a special drink to celebrate with friends. Having rained all day and with just 20 minutes prior to the first guests arriving at6pm, the sun finally came out. We decided it was time to be brave and create a new cocktail drink for the new Summer conditions and moved the whole party outside into our garden. Our Midsummer Muddle Cocktail was born, and what a drinks party it was!
Ingredients
- 50ml of Morello Cherry Brandy Liqueur 17%
- 50ml of Somerset Pomona 20%
- 50ml of Seville Orange Gin 26%
- 1 litre of Lemonade
- Cucumber
- Fresh Lemon
- Ice
Preparation
This drink is designed to be made up in a large pitcher or jug and drunk long in high ball glasses. Add a good quantity of ice to a jug with a squeeze of fresh lemons and slices of lemon and cucumber. Add measures of Morello Cherry Brandy Liqueur 17%, Somerset Pomona 20% and Seville Orange Gin26%. Top up with lemonade. Serve with additional ice in tall glasses.
Our Citrus Sundowner Cocktail is a drink designed to make you feel alive and kicking. Best drunk on a warm evening with friends as the sun goes down, it will revitalise the parts that other cocktails fail to reach.
Ingredients
- 1 measure of Lime Vodka Liqueur 24%
- 1 measure of Seville Orange Gin26%
- 1 measure of Ginger Wine 14.5%
- Indian Tonic Water
- 1 fresh Lemon
- 1 fresh Lime
- 1 fresh Orange
Preparation
This is a long drink refreshing drink, so choose a high ball glass or increase the quantities and add to a pitcher for larger parties. Add the measures of Lime Vodka, Seville Orange Gin, Ginger Wine with plenty of ice to a glass. Then add the juice of a quarter of fresh lime and a quarter of fresh lemon. Top up with tonic water, stirring gently. Garnish with small segments of lime, lemon and orange. Drink slowly facing into the setting sun, and feel happy!

Rhubarb Bellini – this is created from our wonderful Rhubarb Vodka from Invernesshire.
Ingredients
- 1 measure of Rhubarb Vodka Liqueur 20.5%
- 3 measures of Prosecco (or Champagne or other Sparkling White Wine)
- Rhubarb Purée
Preparation
This is a long drink that should be ideally served in Champagne Flutes or another similar tall glass. Stew fresh rhubarb stems for about 5 minutes and sweeten generously with sugar. Liquidize the stewed rhubarb with a blender into a smooth paste. Chill for an hour prior to adding 2 teaspoons full of the fruit purée to the glass. Add a measure of Organic Rhubarb Liqueur 20.5% and top up with chilled Prosecco or Sparkling White Wine
