BEAUTY – MY ANTI-AGEING PRODUCT OF THE MONTH AND REVIEW by Darren Cheers
As you know I’m now deep into my anti-ageing reviews, and I’ve trialled myriad products. I have to confess that I’ve been most impressed with the products I’ve tested. In my ongoing quest to find the ultimate product and regime to defy age and gravity, I get to attend many events and I’m asked to try various products, many of them completely new to me. During this process, I’ve made some remarkable discoveries and found some revolutionary products. An outstanding product, in particular, is Daeses Facial Lifting cream from Sesderma.
I was recently introduced to Dr Giorgia Ratta at a Children in Need Fashion Charity Event she sponsored. There she kindly provided me with Sesderma product samples. Dr Giorgia Ratta is a Harley Street Aesthetics Doctor who specialises in basic and advanced aesthetic treatments with a special focus on anti-ageing. The clinic also provides Medical Facials like Chemical Peels, Micro-Needling and also Silhouette Soft Non-Surgical Thread Face Lift and Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty. Hereupon meeting Dr Giorgia Ratta I found her to be not just professional but very cordial as well. These endearing and essential qualities have enabled Dr Ratta to expand her Harley Street practice to encompass London Bridge too.
I eagerly took the samples and even more eagerly used them. Since I’ve been reviewing anti-ageing for the past few months, my prerogative was to scrutinise each individual product to ascertain its integrity. For too many years cosmetic houses have fabulated their products’ potential, making unsubstantiated statements of science. The public is now less susceptible to this sophistry and wants actual proof and not a factoid. We are now more educated on what causes premature ageing and the best approaches to limit the damage. The most common signs of ageing are induced by sun exposure (photoaging), intrinsic factors, repeated facial movements, elastic fibre disorganisation and decreased epidermal regeneration. For as long as I can remember the beauty industry has extolled the virtue of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), deriving them from many sources often from various fruit acids. These act as an exfoliator which activate skin regeneration, increase epidermal thickness and stimulate fibroblast organisation. The most effective of these AHAs is Glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is renowned for its ability at stimulating collagen production in the skin.
It was the ACGLICOLIC Lipsomal serum that first caught my attention. This won the Cosmetic and Pharmacy Award for Most Innovative Anti-Aging Product 2013. Now I have to confess, I don’t really have any obviously deep lines or wrinkles, otherwise, my findings thus far would have been total failures, and I would be negligent in formulating the ultimate anti-ageing regime. But even me, with all my army of anti-ageing creams, cannot suppress those fine lines, especially those in the corner of the eyes or in the frown area. Not until now that is. The very first night I used my DermaTx Microdermabrasion device, then followed it up with the Acglicolic serum, the results were immediate, and even more apparent the next morning. There was visible reduction in fine lines around the eye area and forehead. But the most impressive part was that my skin, despite performing a mild microdermabrasion, was not inflamed or reddened in the slightest, which can occur with the use of Glycolic acid or Retinol.
Why is it so effective? What’s the science behind it? Well first of all the Acglicolic range is formulated with optimum concentrations to achieve a dramatic reduction in visible signs of ageing at a suitable pH (4.0) which ensures tolerance for ALL skin types, while providing the attributes of Glycolic acid without any side effects. Apart from the 6% free liposomal glycolic acid, this product contains vitamins C + E and hyaluronic acid, which have been proven to boost skin hydration. And as I alluded to earlier, using it in conjunction with the DermaTx yields even more spectacular results. Because my skin has been more effectively exfoliated, it’s more receptive to all the marvellous ingredients which help to stimulate collagen and cellular turnover, revealing a more fresh, clear and youthful complexion. I love to conflate products, but be aware that sometimes it can be counter productive, so know your ingredients and their reactions.
But it doesn’t end there, My Product of the month is actually Sesderma’s DAESES Lifting cream. This is my must-have, cannot-be-without, under any circumstances, cream. Like the Acglicolic range, it contains Glycolic acid, but as the name suggests, it’s a firming cream as opposed to an exfoliator. It instantly makes the skin firmer, more elastic and induces improved skin tone by a revolutionary ingredient DMAE. This natural nutrient works by increasing acetylcholine release, a neurotransmitter that decreases as we get older, and by stimulating collagen synthesis. It’s an intense moisturising cream that will not inflame the skin. I even asked a friend of mine with inordinately sensitive skin to try it. He reported back very positively saying that this was the only cream that didn’t make his skin go all red and blotchy. Three other outstanding virtues I wish to extol is first, unlike traditional Glycolic acid or Retinol based products, that can make your skin more photosensitive, I have used this product morning and night whilst away in Cuba and recently in Spain, and my skin’s photosensitivity did not increase. Never forget, however, to use a good sun block. And second, these products make use of nanotechnology. These nanos which contain the active ingredients, are able, unlike many rival products, to penetrate the deeper layers of the epidermis. Third, these nano’s protect the natural ingredients by preventing them from being destroyed in air exposure, thus they maintain their integrity far longer and far exceed the life expectancy of other brands and eliminating the use of the now denounced parabens. Thus making them far more economic in the long term.
Sesderma has many products in its extensive range and I will be reviewing many of them. And trust me, I’m exceedingly ebullient about this prospect.
I’ve bathroom shelves adorned with many beauty products, but Sesderma is now taking precedence. To get more information on these products and services then contact:
