ESCAPE LONDON – Enjoy a relaxing weekend at the Mercure Box Hill

The Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel is within easy reach of London and set in the stunning North Downs. The hotel looks like it used to be an old inn, with a beautiful black and white exterior.

The hotel has 57 newly refurbished rooms, each one featuring en-suite bathrooms and a friendly receptionist that couldn’t do enough for us. We arrived in the evening and felt like a walk, so were recommended a lovely eatery near by. If you fancy dining in, you can eat at the Emilyn restaurant on-site. If the weather allows they have a lovely heated outdoor pool and excellent hiking around the downs.

Large comfy sofas are places around the lounge bar, perfect to relax on after a tasty dinner or long hike. The bar is decorated in a beautiful light blue, with a pretty fire to keep you warm. The bar has a good selection of wines and although they don’t provide cocktails, our friendly barman was happy to make one for us.

Ample toiletries are provided in the cosy bedroom, with my favourite, fluffy white towels and beautiful crisp white bedding. You are certainly guaranteed a good nights sleep at the Mercure Box Hill. For breakfast, they have an array of food for you to choose from.

The Mercure Box Hill is highly recommended for a comfortable stay with good service, the wonderful English countryside and only 30 minutes from central London.

Available to book with the hotel directly from 12th July, guests of Mercure Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel can enjoy an official Jane Austen experience to mark the bicentenary of the literary heroine’s passing – comprised of a specially themed afternoon tea and a bespoke walking map, designed to explore Box Hill’s rich literary history.

This dedicated offer provides something special for every literary fan, and a library of key novels and fiction books written by famous names such as Jane Austen and John Keats (who were inspired by the local area) will also be available in the hotel’s reception for bookworms to enjoy throughout the summer months.
