LONDON EVENTS – Outdoor music, comedy, fitness and more are back – all to save a local Park!

Chiswick Festival: A 20-day calendar of socially-distanced events taking place in Chiswick House & Gardens this summer.

With the event industry on its knees, a group of furloughed event directors have put together an impressive line up to raise funds for Chiswick House & Gardens after the financial devastation that Covid has caused. With comedy from Russell Kane, Dara O’Briain, Tom Allen & more, a talk with Jeremy Vine, music from local bands as well as international performers, there’s no shortage of talented acts who are buzzing to be back on stage in the Park, from August 21st till September 9th.

With the audience seated in socially-distanced pitches (along with numerous other safety measures in place), the health risk will be minimal while giving the local community something to look forward to after a dry spell in live entertainment that has already lasted longer than most predicted.

Founder of the Chiswick Festival, Thorfinn Armstrong, says, “I grew up on the Park’s doorstep and spent most of my childhood there, so when I discovered the depth of the financial impact of the pandemic, I started thinking up a way to help. Everyone in the area is desperate for something to do, and meanwhile there are acts and performers with no outlet for their talent. So when the guidelines changed to allow outdoor events, we had a perfect combination that I felt could solve a lot of problems. We will of course be going overboard when it comes to safety and reducing risk of transmission – many of my family and friends will be there so it’s absolutely the number 1 priority. I can’t wait to see some of these acts myself, but even more than that I’m looking forward to making as large a contribution to the Park as possible when it’s all over!”

There will also be outdoor fitness classes taking place through August and into early September, again providing an outlet for anyone who’s missed their regular yoga, pilates or HIIT workouts, but isn’t quite ready to return to the studio or gym.
