Jacob Collier will return to Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London on July 1, 2026 for three special solo performances to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his debut album In My Room.
The performances mark a full-circle moment in Collier’s career. On July 1, 2015, he stepped onto the Ronnie Scott’s stage for his first-ever headline performance, unveiling the one-man-band show that would soon captivate audiences around the world. Exactly one year later, on July 1, 2016, he released In My Room, the debut album that launched his recording career and introduced his singular musical vision to a global audience. Now, a decade after the album’s release, Collier returns to the venue where the story began.
Collier’s first Ronnie Scott’s performance offered an early glimpse of what was to come. Legendary producer Quincy Jones flew from Los Angeles to introduce the then-20-year-old musician to the audience, having discovered him through a series of viral YouTube videos and famously declaring: “I have never in my life seen a talent like this. Absolutely mind-blowing.” In a five-star review of the show, The Guardian hailed Collier as “Jazz’s new messiah”, recognising a level of musicianship, imagination and technical innovation rarely seen in an artist so early in their career.
Alongside today’s announcement, Collier has released “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (with 13-Year-Old Jacob)”, the first track to be unveiled from the forthcoming In My Room 10th Anniversary Edition. Accompanied by a new video [HERE], the recording features an archival performance by a thirteen-year-old Collier, with his present-day self adding newly recorded multi-tracked vocal harmonies around the original take. The track offers an early glimpse into the anniversary collection’s blend of newly created material, previously unheard recordings and rare archival offerings from across the In My Room era.
Recorded, arranged, performed and produced entirely by Collier in the music room of his North London family home, In My Room went on to earn two GRAMMY® Awards and establish him as one of the most inventive musical voices of his generation. Across the decade that followed, Collier has amassed seven GRAMMY® Awards, collaborated with more than 100 artists spanning almost every conceivable genre, sold out arenas around the world, pioneered his audience choir phenomenon and built a reputation as one of contemporary music’s most innovative and influential artists.
