LONDON MEMBERS BARS/CLUBS – Take a peep at the gloriously glamorous Le Peep Boutique
Another week and another members bar/club opens the big smoke. Over the years the capital has seen more than its fair share of Eurotrashy, Arabian, flashy, East End shabby member bars open and close at the rate of knots of a super yacht! What does successful club owner Mark Alexiou (Pangaea) have to offer us now that would make this lady take her Louboutins somewhere else …
Well, how about a fabulously healthy tasting menu, cooked by chefs formerly from the Fat Duck, Duck & Waffle and Northcote Manor and a beautifully interior designed by Nick Leith Smith – think French boudoir meets sexy Bali-an Buddha Bar (Agent Provocateur clad dancers and Japanese puppets), plus DJs playing a wide range of dance floor fillers from all the best parties you’ve ever kicked your heels off too over the years!

What is NOT to love?
This is a members bar for members who like to get the service, quality and experience that a member of members bar should, but quite often nowadays fails to experience… the full works. What’s even better is that those who can’t excuse the expense of joining don’t have to be left out of the experience, as from 8pm anyone is free to book dinner there and graze on the fabulous – Japanese inspired 5 course mix of dishes such as flambé new style salmon sashimi with a bloody Mary shot, rib eye kushiyaki, a superb silky smooth black cod done peep style with a sauce to DIE for and a refreshing mocha glac, with imaginative cacao and blueberry Oreo. I’ve counted over 15 different flavour sensations we were party too and that still didn’t leave us stuffed and uncomfortable for a trip around the dance floor later. The only slight issue was there was a slight delay between courses but the place was pumping in December, so for this I guess they can be forgiven.

The cocktails are a heady mix of old and new served in vintage glasses – we stuck to wine though as were in for a long night. The drinks list has everything you can expect – from mid range to extremely boutique offerings – for those special celebrations.
The place itself has 3 main areas and 2 boudoir type areas, including a large dance floor, so you really have no excuse to trip the light fantastic. The hosting is impeccable, service with class and a smile and less of the misplaced server Mayfair snobbery one has come to expect from these places.
I can honestly say I had one of the best nights there that I’ve had in a LONG, LONG time – east, west, north and south in the capital. The DJ span a glitter ball mix of club classics from through the eras and had us dancing all nights. The crowd was fun, glamorous, social, and everyone had a smile on their face – which counts for a lot in this day and age!

The dancers clad in satin and lace underwear were lusciously sexy without looking cheap and totally complemented the vibe of the club. Everyone was up on the floor.
I cannot recommend this enough for a special night out. It’s above and beyond most of my latest members club experiences recently. The crowd is more refined, less dare I say trashy and even the toilets have a story with peepholes in each door! There is so much thought gone into this place it really is a shame not to – so what the hell are you waiting for … Le Peep definitely is c’est TRES Chic!
