LONDON EATERIES – The Crown and Two Chairman, a lively pub with tasty food right in the heart of Soho
Knowing where to go out in the centre of London, especially on a Saturday night is not easy, as there are so many choices available. The Crown and Two Chairman is a lively pub right in the heart of Soho, on the bustling Dean Street.
The pub has had a recent refurbishment and it looks pretty, warm and welcoming. The bar shares beautiful wooded planks as shelves, shiny glasses hang from the wood and provide a beautiful contrast in colour and texture. An open side room boasts stunning red button Chesterfield seats, teamed with green wooden walls and gold picture frames. In the main pub sexy modern lights made with hanging crystals add a touch of glamour. The music playing in the background is a modern mixture of pop and RnB, just the right level to have a conversation, while getting you in a lively mood.

The Crown and Two Chairman presents an extensive beer list, perfect for beer lovers. Alternative beers produced by micro local Brewers such as the Redchurch Shoreditch Blonde and the Redchurch Hackney Gold are also included in the selection on offer. The staff are all very friendly and the wine we ordered arrived perfectly chilled, the menu also provides a great selection of delicious home cooked food.
I began with the roasted squash, tomato, baby gem and toasted seed salad. The tasty fresh squash was teamed well with the crunchy seeds and the sweet chili gave the salad a welcome kick. The portion size was huge as the starter actually looked like a main. My guest opted for the salt and pepper squid, with a spicy mayonnaise. The perfect hint of black pepper, alongside the crisp batter and spicy mayonnaise complimented the squid well.
The fresh salmon paired with the delicious crème fraiche sauce presented a flavor that bounced off your tongue for our main. The fishcakes tasted as if they had just been freshly made and are certainly the best in London. The lovely, chunky potato wedges were browned to perfection and the crisp coleslaw was made with just the right amount of mayonnaise.

The deserts were too delicious to leave and we were far from disappointed, it is fair to say the Crown and Two Chairman in Soho know how to do food well. The sticky toffee pudding was heaven on a plate and if you in the mood for a sweet dish, I recommend you try this outstanding pudding. Not only is the food moreish, it is excellent value for money!
The pub gives you everything you want from a lively London pub, great service, a fun atmosphere, delicious food and a great selection of drink! The Crown and Two Chairman is perfect for delicious food and a fun night out all in one. There is no need to go anywhere else, as this lively pub provides a perfect West End night out.
