Heart London Magazine’s Sexy Summer Cocktails
Warm summer days and hot summer nights go hand in hand with a lovely cool cocktail. Heart London Magazine have tried and tested some Sexy Summer Cocktails just for you, I know the things we do for you lovely readers 😉
If one drink brings summer to mind, then Piña colada is it. Made with Tiana Raw Organic Coconut Goodness, Havana Club Rum and pineapple juice served over crushed ice, this drink ensures those British summer nights have a tropical feel. The mix blends well together and the coconut flakes add to the wonderful texture.
TIANA & HAVANA CLUB RUM PINA COLADA
2 measures of Tiana Raw Organic Coconut Goodness
4 – 6 crushed ice cubes
3 measures of pineapple juice
Double shot of Havana Club Rum
Method: Put the ice cubes into a blender or food processor; add pineapple juice and coconut cream. Blend until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and decorate with pineapple wedges.

Staying with Havana Club, the only white rum aged for three years, Havana Club ‘3 Anos’. This drink is also divine, it is light and refreshing and low on calories too.
For the true taste of Cuba try the Havana Club Mojito, the fresh ingredients ensure it tastes divine.
HAVANA CLUB MOJITO
Mix Sugar and Lime – Squeeze the juice of half a fresh lime into a glass & add two teaspoons of white sugar. Stir with a spoon or swirl the glass around until the sugar is dissolved.
Muddle The Mint – Tap two whole fresh mint sprigs on the back of your hand to release the fragrant aromas. Fold the mint & place in your glass. Gently muddle (press) the mint a few times with the end of a wooden spoon.
Mix Havana Club, Ice and Sparkling Water. Fill the glass with ice. Use your Havana Club Tres Años bottle cap to pour four caps of rum over the ice, then top up with sparkling water.

Method: Fill a highball glass with ice. Add rum and top with Cranberry Classic® Light. Garnish with a cocktail stick speared with a lime wedge and Craisins® Dried Cranberries.

The Ely Gin Company have created some innovative fruits gins, perfect for sunny or rainy days and gin lovers everywhere. If you are a cherry lover mix the Sloe with Cherry Gin with sparkling Prosecco, taking a winter drink forward a few months. This tastes great mixed with Aldi’s Freeman’s Bay sparkling Sauvignon Blanc (available at Aldi), this sparkling Marlborough wine adds to the prominent cherry flavour. The raspberry is great for a twist on the original Gin and Tonic, as is the lemon, bur for extra flavour add the Fentimans Rose Lemonade.

Sipsmith’s Summer Cup is a London Dry Gin base complemented by fresh cucumber, hints of cherry, Earl Grey tea and lemon verbena amongst other things – it is the definition of a summer cocktail! It is best served over ice, topped up with lemonade and with a lemon wheel on the glass.

If you are on a budget ALDI have a great range of reasonably priced drinks, including Tamova Vodka at only £9.99 and it is delicious with fresh orange juice.
Vermouth is one of the biggest drinks trends this year and Belsazar is shaking up the vermouth category, due to the quality of its base ingredients. The Red, White, Dry and Rose Vermouth are blended using six wines, infused with homegrown peels, botanicals and petals and Schladerer Fruit brandies. Here are some new cocktails you can make with this tasty mixer.

Echo Falls have a range of beautiful fruity wines that give you the taste of a summer cocktail without a shaker in sight. The Echo Falls Raspberry and Cassis is a red wine with a very fruity taste, it is almost like drinking fruit juice with a kick and it smells divine. The Peach and Mango is light, smooth and tropical. As you sip away you can imagine you are laying on white sand and dipping your toes in a blue sea. It also tastes great with fruit as white Sangria.

Tea cocktails are all the rage and we made this beautiful refreshing cocktail with Teapigs Darjeeling Earl Grey Tea. This cocktail is fresh and fruity, but not too sweet and is the perfect taste of summer. It is one of favourites at Heart London Magazine, maybe because we made it up ourselves.

Herencia de Plata Tequila is far too good to mix, so sip IT over ice or drink it as a shot. The Herencia de Plata Blanco Tequila is smooth, clean and crisp, perfect for the classic shot alongside a sprinkling of salt and a slice of lemon. o tasty we decided to drink it on it’s own. The smooth taste slides down well and had just the right amount of ginger.
