LONDON EATERIES – Take a break and have a trendy afternoon tea at the W Hotel
Having an afternoon tea in London (or even in England) is as traditional as having a roast dinner on Sunday afternoon. If you enjoy a twist on the traditional, pop to the W hotel for a musically themed afternoon tea.
On the first floor of the W Hotel near Leicester Square, you will find a stunning lounge and when you take a seat on the comfy sofas, the lovely waiting staff can happily serve you a trendy Anarch-Tea.
The traditional finger sandwiches that make up any afternoon tea are a must and my absolute favourite was the ‘Aged Montgomery Cheddar , Red Onion and Marmalade’. The cheddar and the marmalade are married well and have always been my favourite. Sweet and salty sandwiches don’t always work well, but this one is a true success.
The Jam
Currant Scone, Clotted Cream and The JAM
‘The Jam” typically known as a traditional scone, with welcome cream and jam, comes in a mini size. Just enough to enjoy and leave room for other tasty treats.

Studded Dark Chocolate Roulade
If you’re a fan of chocolate and when I mean chocolate I mean real chocolate, this cake is for you. There are different types of chocolate, all in the same cake! A little goes a long way, so share this with a friend and enjoy every mouth full.
Shut Up – The Stranglers
Frozen Strawberry and Basil Parfait
The lips cake is made from white chocolate, with a frozen strawberry treat inside. It was my favourite cake of the afternoon, because it is not a common one and the design was incredible.
The Mowhawk
Raspberry and Lime Mouse
The mix between the raspberry and lime creates a fresh and tasty pastry. Inside, you will find a light “mousse”. It’s not heavy and the perfect way to finish off an afternoon tea.
God Save the Queen – The Sex Pistols
Vanilla and Almond Battenberg Cake
We also chose the classic and colourful Battenberg Cake. The wrap was made of almond and inside vanilla, proving to be a classic and very tasty cake. With this musically themed afternoon tea, you can have a cocktail or chose from a great selection of teas.
As a fan of music, it was amazing to see how they created cakes around song titles, even the plate was created out of 3 different vinyl’s. The venue is stunning, with a view of Leicester Square and the sofas comfy. The room is spacious and there are some beautiful fireplaces to help relax you. This afternoon tea with a difference is really special and perfect to enjoy alone or with friends.
