ESCAPE LONDON & VISIT AMERICA – Feel as if you have stepped into Europe at the Hotel Andra in Seattle
The Hotel Andra is situated right in the middle of Downtown Seattle and almost everything is walking distance, allowing you to easily enjoy this friendly city by foot. As soon as you step into this European style hotel, you can’t help but feel at home. On one side of the funky reception lays a beautiful fireplace surrounded by books and the other, the entrance to Lola’s restaurant, perfect for dinner, breakfast or the odd tipple, if you so fancy.
The staff at the hotel are helpful and friendly, as well as very knowledgeable about the facilities in the hotel and nearby. They even provide a list of restaurants that are no more than 10 minutes away, a great sight seeing list and see where to shop, the latter is a must for those who like to indulge in a little retail therapy.
Our bedroom was sizeable, decorated in a stunning modern style in light blue, grey and cream. Sweet treats awaited us next to the bed, delicious Seattle chocolate and a bottle of refreshing Vox water. The artwork matched the modern décor, as funky paintings adorned the walls, with ample lighting. The well stocked bar, complete with Starbucks Coffee, an ice bucket and plenty of glasses, enables you to enjoy a cocktail or a soft drink in your hotel room whenever you desire. The bed was huge with Egyptian cotton sheets and the kind of bed that you can’t wait to get into and don’t wish to get out of. For those who love clothes the huge walk in wardrobe will put a smile on the face of the busiest shopper, with two beautifully soft dressing gowns ready for you to slip on. The luxurious bathroom was decorated in a light green, with a grey tiled floor, a huge walk in shower, with plenty of room for two and fluffy white towels, with ample toiletries for you to use. As well as complimentary WIFI, an beautiful espresso colour wooded desk is available to catch up on emails or post photos of your trip to Seattle. For girly girls like myself, the huge floor length mirror was also a welcome asset.
The fitness centre is well equipped with enough fitness machines to ensure you don’t have to wait to exercise and if you need to do a little work during your visit, they have a business centre too.
You always know a great restaurant when it is packed and there isn’t a free table in the place, this can be said of Lola’s in the Hotel Andra. It is hard not to enjoy the exquisite décor, electric atmosphere and watch the happy clientele. The restaurant has a hint of Moroccan styling, with cute little booths perfect for two or more, with a divider high enough to make you feel as though you are the only people in the restaurant. The brown leather seats are comfortable and the menu is simply mouthwatering. If you want to be in taste bud heaven, we recommend the cauliflower and anchovy, steak, fried garlic potatoes, mint peas and salmon kebab. However, I am certain any dish you order is sure to be out if this world and one you will want to eat again and again. Lola’s really is s a must visit when you are in Seattle.
Whether you are visiting Seattle for business or want to enjoy the sights this beautiful city has to offer, the Hotel Andra is the perfect place to stay. You can sleep like a baby, enjoy the outstanding food at Lola’s, get spoilt by the excellent service or take a stroll around Downtown Seattle.
