ESCAPE LONDON, VISIT AMERICA – The Yotel New York City, Modern, Central and Great Service
I jumped at the chance of a weekend in NYC at Christmas. The Yotel seemed the perfect base for sight-seeing and exploring NYC and all that it has to offer.
The website suggested a modern, hotel, with the wow factor, and they were not short of promising this. So was I disappointed? absolutely NOT!
The Yotel hosts a fabulous bar / restaurant, the ideal place for having a glass of wine, relaxing. First impressions – lovely! Entry to the hotel, you’re taken in a lift, although it felt more like a spaceship, to the reception area, the reception desk is near to the bar, which was chic and modern, filled with comfy chairs and well-dressed waiters.
I couldn’t wait to see my room. So far I had not been disappointed. The door opened to reveal a spotless, well-decorated in white. Dominating the room was an inviting, super Queen sized bed piled with pillows. The bathroom was very basic however was also spacious, which contained a power shower, multiple white fluffy towels and a great view of Times Square.
First I took a trip up to the bar for a well earned glass of wine. I was pleased to see that there was an extensive menu and reasonable prices. Service was quick and efficient and I was soon relaxing with a large glass of white wine.
Soon after I headed back to my room and climbed into that fabulous bed and relaxed in front of the flat screen TV whilst making the most of the hotel’s complimentary wi-fi. After an amazing sleep, I awoke early, ready for a day of sight seeing.
After a day of sightseeing in New York, I returned late in the afternoon. On entering the hotel, more warmth and welcome from the staff and genuine interest as to how I had enjoyed my day.
The Yotel has a gym which I sadly didn’t get to use, however by all accounts its very good.
The Yotel delivers everything it promises. If you want a weekend away in NYC with a central location and a modern room then this is the place for you.
