ESCAPE LONDON AND VISIT AMERICA – Serene Serena Villas, Palm Springs
La Serena Villas is just the most modern yet traditional and classiest boutique hotel I’ve stayed at in Palm Springs.
The second you walk through the entrance you just feel spoilt. The original and decorative wooden “La Serena” sign welcomes you and sets the scene to a most beautiful range of villas that have maintained the rich, upper-class character of royal Spain.
La Serena villas is, without doubt, a private relaxing oasis. Dating back to 1933, La Serena beautifully incorporates the historic, Spanish, traditional style with modern-day elegance and luxury.
Interior design group, Avenue Interior Design have beautifully combined all the modern amenities of a 5 star hotel, with relevant, hand-picked furniture and accessories for each villa.
There are 18 secluded, private villas each with their own private patio, complete with an outdoor romantic claw foot tub. You can lay back in a warm bubble bath looking up at the starry sky with your fire-pit flames flickering in the moonlight.
Everything about the hotel has character, character and then more character; from the romantic four poster beds, the dark wooden, rustic doors, the ornate, chandeliers hanging from the vaulted ceilings, turn-of-the century, glass Edison lights, Spanish-tiled walk-in showers and the hand-made inlaid mother-of-pearl dressers.
Lastly, but definitely not least, make time to relax even further at the on-site spa, or dip your toes into the outdoor jacuzzi and finish the evening off under the stars, sipping on a cocktail, at their rooftop lounge. You won’t be disappointed.
The onsite restaurant Azucar serves up opulent Spanish tapas alongside more traditional options, all with a twist of additional flavor. Although I was not able to review the spa, if it is anything like the rest of the Villas, you won’t be disappointed. I shall gladly admit I tried many of their cocktails and can only give a big thumbs up for every single one. Cheers! Or should I say Salud!
The only complaint I had about La Serena Villas was … why can’t I stay longer?
