LONDON HOTELS – Relax safely at the stunning Resident Hotel in Covent Garden

The Resident Hotel is located on the southern edge of Covent Garden, overlooking the iconic Strand, with St Paul’s Church on one side and the Thames on the other. One of three main tube stations and a train station can be reached in just 5 minutes, providing direct access to even more of London’s hot spots.

The entrance to the beautiful hotel a fitting contrast with the face of the building which dates back to the early 1900s. The window displaying boasts a colourful and beautiful array of flowers. Inside the hotel, a simple, modern but stylish theme is carried out from the entrance to the bedroom. The building is easy to navigate through with an efficient electronic system for the lifts and doorways.

Superb assistance was provided on arrival by the welcoming staff members. The staff are very accommodating, keeping my bicycle in the downstairs storage space, which can also be useful for longer stays.

Of course, during this time we need to mention the COVID safety measures that are being taken. We were thoroughly reassured with the Hygiene protocol, followed by a thermometer test. There were hygiene notices, with multiple dispensers placed around the hallways and the room was sealed after cleaning to ensure confidence in cleanliness. This hotel certainly goes out of their way to ensure the venue is very safe, so you can relax and enjoy your visit without worry.

The bedroom was neatly laid out, with a welcome message on the television screen. There was even a balcony that overlooks London’s beautiful buildings and streets below. The bed was adorned with soft white Egyptian cotton sheets and plenty of pillows to rest your head on, with blue accent chairs in the room to relax on. The bathroom decorated in stylish marble tiles, with plenty of toiletries and fluffy white towels available, as well as a lovely deep bath to soak in.

The local area provides an abundance of choices to eat out depending on your mood or preference. One of the best views of the area can be found at the Radio Rooftop, just a 5 minute walk East, a perfect view of the city, with an enjoyable atmosphere and signature drinks to your liking. I would suggest booking in advance to watch the sunset from above.

However, for those stay-in nights, we would advise making the most of the self-contained kitchen which you will find in one of the cupboards. Well equipped with all the dinnerware essentials, additionally a Nespresso machine, kettle, fridge, and microwave. The fridge can also be stocked up with local groceries on request. The menu has a fairly wide range of choices for the evening snacks.

Resident Hotels has launched a personalised in-room “groceries” service for all its guests. The Resident surveyed its members to gain insight of what guests would find useful for when the hotels re-open with more than a third (36 percent) of respondents indicating that it would be important to be able to pre-order groceries for the mini-kitchen. Having the mini-kitchen in all rooms supports longer stays and helps guests plan their staycation or work-stay knowing that both essentials and their favourite items can be close to hand.

Guests can request groceries of their choice prior to arriving or during their stay at the hotel, with The Resident’s team available to help guests by making recommendations, then ensuring everything is safely placed in the mini-kitchen ready for the guest’s arrival. For guests looking for inspiration on what to order, The Resident team can recommend croissants and fresh fruit for breakfast, scones, and sandwiches for afternoon tea, wine and cheese for the evening, or champagne and truffles for an extra special treat.

When it’s time to relax and unwind, you can set the mood in the bathroom with the lighting and speakers. The robes and slippers provided are always a bonus. The in-room breakfast has several options to choose from for a variety of dietary requirements, which are sourced from a local cafe delivered by with a greeting followed and a cheerful smile.

They were very obliging in extending the check-out period on this occasion.

We would fully recommend this wonderful venue which is perfect for short and long stays, business professionals. couples and indeed families.
