LONDON BARS – Barts, London’s secret and hidden gem!
There is a new trend in London, hidden bars! Some you need the password to get into and there is even a bar in an old disused tube station. However, some I have been to have been a little disappointing and have not lived up to the hype. That is where Barts steps in, not only is it visually exciting, it gets it right on every single level!

Barts is situated bang in the middle of Chelsea, but don’t think that it is easy to find, as it is far from that. It is a secret place that is hidden away and you can almost miss it. Inside the Chelsea Cloisters lays a hidden door, when you arrive there you ring the bell of a secret second door and you are meet with an eye level sliding hatch and mysterious eyes staring back at you.

When you then enter the lounge the amazing décor makes you feel as if have stepped into Alice in Wonderlands shoes, only Alice has found a cooler than cool London speakeasy on her travels. The walls are laden with an assortment of taxidermy, old clocks, quirky art works all set on curated on red 1920s looking wall paper. The low lighting makes for an intimate boudoir, with tracks playing from level 42 to the 1940s.
This hidden gem has to be London’s coolest bar. The atmosphere is both electric and intimate. Our knowledgeable bar tender made us drinks that are not even on the menu and brought them out on a wooden stand and an old cigarette box. What makes this place so special is the presentation of the drinks, my virgin drink arrived as a trio. Gooseberries to begin, with a sweet lemon and apple drink that was the perfect sweet balance of sweet and sour, followed by the taste of dried beetroot.
This hidden gem has to be London’s coolest bar!
Barts is equally special and unique, a wonderful establishment that’s understands well the power of taste and takes risks with food and drink to satisfy its happy customers. If you haven’t heard of Barts then you need head there as fast as your feet can carry you, it is exciting, fun and for Londons coolest bar!
