LONDON EVENTS – Celebrate 10 years of eclectic style at Spitalfields E1 with a week of exciting events
September 2015 marks 10 years since the completion of the Spitalfields Regeneration Project and its opening under the mantle of Spitalfields E1. Despite the market’s 800 year history, the regeneration triggered a new phase for the market.
The project saw the creation of three new major public spaces – Bishops Square, Crispin Place and Market Street – which were energised with the introduction of a new 100-stall traders market selling everything from fashion and accessories through to interiors and gifts, thus continuing the legacy of the traditional Spitalfields Market.
Other new initiatives included a ‘pop-up’ arts market, which gave emerging artists a platform to showcase their unique work directly to the public as well as the introduction of a host of refreshing new retailers and restaurants.
Throughout September there will be an exciting array of free community-led events to celebrate a decade of Spitalfields E1, culminating in an exciting celebration week, which will include:

The anniversary party is a treat for all the senses, jam-packed with live music and dancing, fabulous street food & drink and the famous market featuring the best of British design talent. Look out for popular acts including the Washington Jazz Band + Swing Patrol, dazzling duo Grace & Molly and the distinctive sound of the Urban Voices Collective plus much more. Best of all? UpStart Crow Festival
Sunday 27th September 12pm – 10pm
Bishop’s SquarePay a visit to London’s fastest growing independent music festival featuring the cream of the capital’s singer/songwriter talent. The UpStart Crow Festival takes over Bishops Square on Sunday 27th September from 12pm – 10pm. As well as enjoying exciting original music, visitors can sample stunning street food and keep their thirst at bay with refreshing drinks from a local brewery. What’s more, there’s no bank-breaking ticket price, entry is completely free.
