LONDON EATERIES – London’s hidden gem Las Iguanas
As soon as I stepped foot into the newly opened Las Iguanas in Brunswick Square, I felt as if I was in a tropical island. This fun, hidden gem was honestly one of the best places I have ever tried in London. The manager made it a point to introduce herself to almost all the tables, making the customers feel right at home and greatly cared for. Accompanying the friendly staff, the restaurant and bar are filled with colorful lights and wallpapers, creating a cozy yet lively jazzy atmosphere.
If you go to Las Iguanas, it is mandatory to try some of their cocktails. All day everyday is happy hour in this tropical heaven. To start off, my friend and I ordered the Iguanas Cosmo, the Passion Fruit Batida cocktail and the Lamb Empanadas starter dish. The empanadas were tastefully light, which was good because the main dishes are perfectly filling. Sometimes it’s hard to get the perfect portions and I end up leaving restaurants too full to even speak. However, that wasn’t the case at Las Iguanas. To follow the empanadas, we ordered the Bahian Coconut Chicken with rice and vegetables. The sauce accompanied with the Coconut Chicken gave the perfect amount of flavor to the whole dish. Next ordered were the Chicken Fajitas. The great thing about their fajitas is that Las Iguanas lets you build your own, so you can create your own perfect fajitas.
All day everyday is happy hour in this tropical heaven.
Upon finishing the meal, you just couldn’t leave Las Iguanas without trying more of their signature cocktails. If you want something sweet after a delicious savoury meal, I recommend the Jaguar Milk. The Jaguar Milk is a great drink to wrap up the night with because it is creamy, sweet and desert like. I quickly ordered their new cocktail Tijuana Tipple and by god did it tipple me over. This cocktail was filled of complimentary tastes with tasty tequila and was by far the best drink I have ever had.
The next time you’re in Brunswick Square, make sure you go to the newly opened Las Iguanas for some food and definitely for some cocktails. Remember, Happy Hour all day every day. Who wouldn’t enjoy that?
