HEALTH AND BEAUTY – Give your festive flab the boot and workout with German Gymnasium

If your purse strings are tighter and your wobbly bits wobblier after the party season, help is at hand from German Gymnasium, the newly renovated Grade II listed former gymnasium between King’s Cross station and St Pancras International. From Sunday 10th and every other Sunday thereafter, the dining destination will play host to heart pumping outdoor fitness classes, hosted by MW5 Fitness to help you burn a shed load of calories and push your fitness levels to the limit.

Giving a nod to the building’s history, the classes will feature a mix of Victorian Gymnastics, group fitness and athletics. Techniques such as Indian Club Swinging (which was one of the sports practiced in the building when it was a Gym), Boxing and Bodyweight drills will come into play too so expect high energy and hard work. Where better to get into shape, than in the building that hosted the first ever-indoor events for the 1866 Olympic Games.

After your workout, why not enjoy a delicious healthy breakfast created by the chefs at German Gymnasium to refuel you. With nutritious dishes including Chia pots with coconut and almond milk, vanilla, pomegranate & lemon balm, the Swiss Bircher Museli, potato rösti with fried eggs or the mighty GG Breakfast! Nourishing smoothies on offer range from The Antioxidant, an almond, spinach, blueberry smoothie topped with apple juice, and The Full Tank with chia seeds, egg white, coconut water, avocado and raspberry – there will be something for everyone to bounce back after the class.

German Gymnasium is the latest dining venue from D&D London comprising one of King’s Cross’ largest al fresco terraces, a patisserie counter, an all-day Grand Café serving breakfast through to dinner, a formal restaurant and the Meister Bar.

Everyone knows that Summer bodies are made in the Winter, so to get your workout regime started with a bang, the class will be provided for £15. Confirmed dates for the classes are Sunday 10th & 24th January, Sunday 7th and 21st February 2016 at 10am-11am and continue on a bi-

weekly basis. Classes are £15 each and all you need to do is book at http://www.mw5-fitness.com/ then turn up and get sweaty. Breakfast can be booked directly with German Gymnasium by calling 0207 287 8000 or by emailing reservations@germangymnasium.com.
