Cardinal Place is running a free yoga tennis class to celebrate Wimbledon coming to SW1

Wimbledon is just around the corner and to celebrate, Cardinal Place in Victoria is hosting a one off complimentary yoga class with a difference. We’ve all tried hot yoga, some may have even tried doga (dog yoga) but on Wednesday 24th June, Victoria is bringing you tennis inspired yoga.

This one off class, taking place on the Cardinal Place roof garden, will feature tennis moves as part of a yoga workout, all in homage of SW19’s infamous tennis tournament.

Expert yoga teacher and Sweaty Betty ambassador Jo Arthur will put participants through their paces with sun salutations and downward dogs, alongside aces and volleys. Expertly merging together the world of tennis and yoga, Jo is the perfect yoga guru to host this unique class. Boasting a previous career at the Lawn Tennis Association, Jo is currently a yoga teacher to the stars – teaching celebrities such as Princess Beatrice the difference between the cat and cobra pose.

Jo Arthur comments: “In this unique class, attendees will transform tennis moves, such as the simple serve into effective zen inspired movements. Alongside bespoke yoga moves, we’ll also be using tennis props, such as tennis balls to stretch out sore and achy muscles. I’ve been a yoga teacher for four years and never created such a different yoga class before, it’s going to be a great class to both run and attend!”

Whether you’re a regular yogi, the next Venus Williams or just keen to try something new, then this is the class for you. For any beginners there will be yoga assistants offering a helping hand throughout the class and treating attendees to a luxury head massage using L’Occitane oil.

Along with a great work out, attendees will be treated to discounts courtesy of the fitness centre Gymbox, who are soon to be opening a gym in Victoria, alongside a free smoothie from Wagamama. It’s free to sign up but places are limited, grab your colleagues or friends and make sure you sign up to today.
